Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE) (IP)

Classroom Course

This two-day, in-person course has been designed to help participants understand the components and application for Leadership for Safety Excellence. It is designed to provide participants with tools to integrate into their daily activities to create and promote a healthy and safe working environment. Course materials are geared toward supervisory positions, yet beneficial to all.

  • Safety responsibilities of managers, supervisors, and workers
  • Company culture
  • Hazard assessments
  • Safety inspections
  • Incident investigations
  • Worker training and communication
  • LSE Proficiency

Certification

First Level of the LSE Program – Certificate of Completion

This course has a written test and skills check component. Participants must achieve a minimum score of 80% on a closed-book written test and complete five skill checks for course certification.

Second Level of the LSE Program – Certificate of Proficiency

To receive the ACSA LSE Certificate of Proficiency, participants must submit copies of the following documents to the ACSA for review as per the LSE Proficiency submission requirements:

  • hazard assessment
  • site inspection
  • incident investigation
  • toolbox talk/safety meeting
