Blackfalds celebrates provincial funding for new high schoolRDCA-Admin
It was smiles all around Tuesday in Blackfalds as dignitaries gathered to celebrate the provincial government’s formal announcement of full construction funding for a long sought after high school for the town.
The public school will have capacity for up to 850 students.
“It was so overdue for Blackfalds to have a high school, so it’s just so exciting for them to have the students stay in their community and not have to be bussed into other communities for school,” said Pam Hansen, Board Chair for Wolf Creek Public Schools.
Blackfalds does not currently have a high school. The new project will take some remove some of the pressure on Lacombe Composite High School, where Blackfalds students have been bused to for decades.
